Google Top Searches November

November 16, 2008

Did you know that 20% of the queries Google receives each day are ones we haven’t seen in at least 90 days, if at all?

To help you on your SEO, SEM and Internet Marketing campaigns I’ll publish a weekly list with Google Top searches .

The list is based on Google Hot Trends, with raw numbers from there, I work on an approximation to the root keyword.

Example, "Britney spears songs", "Britney Spears lyrics", "Britney Spears naked", are listed as "Britney Spears".

I also have excluded porn, gambling, "How-to queries" and other subjects it might be harmful for MarketingEasy.

There you go:

Google Top search week 09 to 15 November/2008

1) 23 and me (Time magazine – 23andMe’s Personal Genome Service 2008 Invention of the Year)

2) Adrienne Bailon (star of the Disney group the Cheetah Girls, some nude pictures, bla, bla, bla)

3) Britney Spears

4) Flu symptoms (Google says they can now predict flu outbreaks before anyone else)

5) Grand Wailea ("Wheel of Fortune" boosted the Island’s image to a wide-eyed game show crowd)

6) Missingmoney.com (website offering Free Search for Unclaimed Property)

7) Sabatiello s (An Italian restaurant in Stamford, starring on reality show – Kitchen Nightmares)

8 ) Wizard of oz suicide (ahh..watch it here )

9) Salvia Effects (news about Salvia as a drug that can induce dissociative effects on human mind.)

10) Montecito Fire (yorba linda fire, brea fire, corona fire, palos verdes fire, anaheim hills fire, sylmar fire map, orange county fires)

What I am interested in is the practical application of these terms

Hey Josh,
thanks for the coffee yesterday, good talk there!
In practical terms you can use it for different ways.
SEO
If you’re a blogger you can try to cash in on massive traffic from these terms. They are casual and you can try to get a post using some of the terms. That wont be a great idea but was the first came out :-)
SEM/PPC
You can create thematic campaigns.
Example
Wizard of oz is not probably a term used by, let’s say VideoEzy on PPC.
Traffic is there, people are searching for the term, Video Ezzy could ave done a campaing tailored for given search
Just random examples, there are more use for this sort of list.
