One of the suggested new logos for BP by Aussie - Gremlin

The site  LogoMyWay started a new competition with a challenge:

Create a new logo for BP.

The intention is to use their 6000+ subscribed designers to create a new logo representing BP’s company responsibility for the ecological disaster caused by oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

Requirements are: Top Three Things to Communicate on the new BP logo:

• #1 Oil spill disaster – Toxic
• #2 Death of wildlife caused by BP disaster
• #3 Incompetence from BP solving the issue.

The briefing:

Help Redesign BP’s logo! They need a NEW Brand.

I cant tell you how frustrated and upset we are about BP and how they are handling this oil disaster.

Before this eruption of oil they had 17 violations. It’s obvious this could have been prevented.

This is the biggest environmental disaster we have ever faced in this country.

The (6000) creative logo designers at LogoMyWay can help to update the BP logo with a more suitable design and brand.

The design community and the general public will vote on the winner of the redesign of the NEW BP LOGO.

Now and then I check my spam folder for a couple of reasons:

1) in case any expected email went missed there.

2) it gives me some ideas for keywords.

Scanning and deleting I found an interesting one about Persistence;

And never was he more right than now, when in the middle of the worst economy in living memory, when conditions are dire enough to lead to talk of the Great Depression of the 1930s, business owners are battening down the hatches and just waiting to “ride out” the storm.

Waiting for this to end will kill your business. It will be a long, painful wait. It’s as simple as that. You have to be proactive and that proactivity will be driven by persistence.

And no one is pretending it’s easy. It takes a certain mettle to keep your doors open when business is hard to get. It’s tempting to give in, and let it all fall apart. That’s the easy way out though.

But you can be smart about it. Because YOU know all the marketing tips, strategies, and techniques I’ve shared with you… and you know they work. YOU know how business is a matter of finding out what people want rather than what they need, and then giving it to them.

You KNOW price is not an issue and it’s all about value. You KNOW how to do all this.

You know that if you turn your website into a lead-generation website rather than a ‘sales’ site you can improve your results by hundreds of per cent.
Yet it takes courage and fortitude to “do it all” when everyone else is doing the opposite. It’s hard to plug away with your marketing when everyone else is cutting back.

But, right now, this recession DOES represent a grand opportunity to anyone prepared to stand firm against fear, uncertainty and doubt. Advertising costs are at an all-time low, and all your competitors will have slashed their budgets and be running scared.

I’ve been tagged by Nathan from Another Advertising Wanker on a meme.

Some bloggers don’t like memes, I actually like this sort of posts, it breaks the routine, the sameness.

Also, particularly coming from Nathan I tend to enjoy even more. I just knew Nathan. His blog went direct to my RSS reader, H’es a very smart and switch on bloke.

1) I’m a great bartender. I know how to prepare shit lot of drinks.

2) I worked as a radio DJ when i was around 14. I was completely passionate about radio and music. Thought it’d be my work for the rest of my life

3) I played indoor soccer in Melbourne and my team won the championship. I was the only player from ALL TEAMS to get a red card!

4) I learn to read I was 3.

5) I married my wife just after 3 months after met her for the first time. We are still married after 6 years and her name is Jessica.

6) I don’t eat fruits. Don’t like it. Watermelon makes me burp – oranges give me headache – Diarrhea from mango. I also don’t drink milk, I’m lactose intolerant.

7) It takes about 5 beers before I pass out.

8 ) As Nathan, I have a fairly strong disdain for real estate agents, I found they are the most untrustable professionals around. However still believe there must to have the honest and decent ones

9) I’ve been studying since I remember myself as human being. Last year was the first year of my 35 years I wasn’t enrolled in any course, MBA, or wathever.

10) I gave up driving cars, now I ride a Ninja bike

One of the many challenges facing OHMH is funding, like any non-profit organization.

However, thanks to Twitter users Vanessa Leong and Shelley Greenberg, as well as Boston-based social media blogger Graddon Tripp, OHMH could be $20,000 better off within 30 days.

Together they have come up with a challenge -Raise 20k in donation in 30 days.

With social media, that should be pretty easy.
